We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quality Assurance Specialist to join  our growing QA team. This role is perfect for recent graduates or early-career professionals with  up to 2 years of experience who are passionate about software quality and eager to develop  expertise in both manual and automated testing practices. 

As a Junior QA Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our applications are bug-free,  user-friendly, and meet all functional and non-functional requirements. You’ll work under the  mentorship of senior QA engineers, gaining hands-on experience with modern testing tools and  methodologies while contributing to high-quality software releases for applications built using  relevant technology.

Manual Testing

• Test Planning & Design: Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases  based on functional specifications, user stories, and business requirements 
• Functional Testing: Perform thorough manual testing of web and mobile applications to  validate functionality, usability, and user experience
• Exploratory Testing: Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and scenarios  not covered by scripted test cases 
• User Acceptance Support: Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) coordination and  execution with stakeholders and end users 
• Cross-Browser & Device Testing: Verify application behavior across different  browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices
• Data Validation: Perform database testing to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and  consistency

Automation Testing

• Automation Scripting: Design and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and  API applications using industry-standard tools 
• Framework Contribution: Support senior QA members in maintaining and enhancing  existing automation frameworks 
• Regression Testing: Execute automated regression test suites to ensure new code  changes don’t introduce defects 

Quality Assurance Activities

• Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using tools  like JIRA, providing detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence
• Test Case Management: Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases  covering positive, negative, and boundary scenarios 
• Collaboration: Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners  to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage 
• Documentation: Maintain accurate test documentation including test plans, test  execution reports, and defect metrics 
• Process Improvement: Participate in retrospectives and contribute ideas to improve  testing processes and quality standards
• Continuous Learning: Actively engage in training sessions, knowledge-sharing, and  self-learning to stay current with emerging testing tools and methodologies

Core Testing Skills

• Manual Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of manual testing concepts,  techniques, and best practices 
• Testing Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life  Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
• Test Design Techniques: Familiarity with equivalence partitioning, boundary value  analysis, decision tables, and state transition testing 
• Agile/Scrum Understanding: Experience or familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint  planning, and daily standups 

Technical Proficiency

• Programming Basics: Working knowledge of at least one programming language  (Java, Python, or JavaScript) for test automation 
• Automation Tools: Conceptual or hands-on understanding of test automation  frameworks such as:
  ○ Selenium WebDriver
  ○ Cypress
  ○ Postman or REST Assured for API testing
  ○ TestNG or JUnit for test execution frameworks
• Defect Tracking Tools: Familiarity with JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar defect management  systems 
• Version Control: Basic knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows
• Database Testing: Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for data validation  and test data preparation 
• API Testing: Understanding of REST APIs and ability to test using tools like Postman or  similar 

Soft Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related  field 
• Certifications: ISTQB Foundation Level certification or willingness to pursue it
• Testing Tools Experience: Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress,  JMeter, or similar 
• Performance Testing: Basic understanding of performance and load testing concepts
• CI/CD Awareness: Exposure to continuous integration tools like Jenkins, GitHub  Actions, or Azure DevOps 
• Mobile Testing: Experience with mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms
• Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in specific domains (e-commerce, fintech,  healthcare) is a plus
